Welcome to my portfolio!

My name is Christian Werner, I am researcher with a background in Applied Geoinformatics currently based at the University of Salzburg, Austria. In autumn 2024 I successfully defended my dissertation. Since 2019 I work at the Mobility Lab research group within the Department of Geoinformatics.

My main research interests revolve around geospatial methods and network analysis in context of sustainable mobility. Whith a past focus on active mobility, mainly cycling, I am interested in advancing integrated multimodal assessments.
I have a background in Digital Media and 2.5 years of work experience in the field of software development and interaction design. Since 2019 I gained teaching experience at University of Salzburg and University of Applied Sciences Ulm.

NetAScore

Open Source software for bikeability and walkability assessment

The open source software NetAScore allows assessment of segment-based bikeability and walkability from open data. I led its development as part of my PhD project. It allows easy customization and adaption to different use cases and target groups.
